Objective

Learn formatting techniques to control the layout of text in your documents.

Prerequisite Skills

Comfortable with basic Word capabilities.

Course Description

Do you want to number the pages in your documents? Do you want to add a header and/or footer to every page of a document? Do you want to arrange text in columns, or add a picture or text watermark to a document?

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Add page numbers to a document.

  • Insert one of Word's built-in headers or footers.

  • Create your own header or footer.

  • Understand different types of section breaks.

  • Change the margins or page orientation in different sections of a document.

  • Create different headers and footers in each section of a document.

  • Understand pagination controls such as Widow/Orphan Control, Keep with Next, and Keep Lines Together.

  • Format a document using columns.

  • Add a text or picture watermark.

  • Add a page border.

  • Insert a cover page at the beginning of a document.
