Project 2007 Getting Started

Objective

Learn the beginning steps in correctly setting up a project plan. Focus on setting up calendars, working with tasks, and establishing task relationships. Also learn how to save your project as a template to reuse in the future.

Prerequisite Skills

  • Comfortable with the Windows environment

  • Comfortable with basic Excel capabilities
    (Suggested course: Excel 2007 Getting Started)

Course Description

Attend this course if you want to:

  • Understand Microsoft Project's purpose and capabilities.

  • Start a new project.

  • Define the project information.

  • Work with calendars.

  • Understand the components of the Project window.

  • Enter tasks for a project.

  • Import tasks from Excel.

  • Modify and delete tasks.

  • Enter the task duration.

  • Understand summary tasks and subtasks.

  • Understand task dependency.

  • Save a project as a template for future projects.

  • Work with the Gantt Chart view.

  • Use the Project Guide.
